StarTech.com 2 Port PCI RS232 Serial Adapter Card with 16550 UART PCI2S550

I needed a serial card to connect a PC with a weather station. Why weather stations haven't updated to use USB rather than serial cards -- that is a different issue. Regardless, I bought three cards to do so. This was the only one that worked. It installs easily and works with Vista. I'm running Vista/64 and have had no issues with it.

This dual serial port card is great. The packaging emphasizes compatibility with a variety of [worthless] windows releases, but it works flawlessly with real operating systems, also. (In my case Fedora 14.) It just worked right out of the box, no drivers, no setup, just plugged it in, booted up the box, and the operating system showed two more serial ports. It comes with half height mounting brackets if needed, so it will fit any PC with a spare PCI slot. I've found USB to DB9 serial connectors to be flaky, but this solution was inexpensive and appears to be rock-solid.
